Tessworks Ceramics realizes that our viewers may have questions in regards to our product. Below we have provided the most common questions we receive from customers. If your question is not covered below, Click Here, and provide us your questions and we will respond to you as soon as we get the email.  Thank You for visiting Tessworks.

bulletIs the ceramic toxic?

bullet No. We use paints and glazes, which are non-toxic. Our product is food safe according to the California State regulation codes.
bulletIf the ceramic has a crack or has been chipped can I repair it?

bulletIf you are using this product as a non-food item, then yes you can glue the chipped piece back on with epoxy. Cracks are not repairable and if used as a container to hold water (vase) the piece may leak. VERY IMPORTANT If you have a chipped piece do not continue to use it as a serving piece for food items (even if you repaired it with glue). The chipped portion may eventually carry bacteria, which may cause illness.
bulletIs the ceramic microwave, oven and dishwasher safe?

bullet Note that the most durable is “stoneware” because it is fired at very high fires. Ceramic is fired at a low cone fire, (03) (05) which makes it lesser durable. Ceramic is although microwave, oven (low warming temperatures) and dishwasher safe, but use caution. Just like most dishware it will chip or crack if mishandled.
bulletI heard red is a toxic color?

bullet Yes, most true red ceramic paints are toxic. Tessworks only uses non-toxic paint. If you see “red” in any of our patterns, know that Tessworks uses a combination of other colors to reach the “red” color.
